Air filter replacement for S60

Just replaced the air filter for the first time on my 2009 S60 2.5T and have two questions as a result.
- It's difficult to unhook the rear part of the cover and even more difficult to rehook. Is there any trick to this? I tried all kinds of things but nothing seemed to make it any simpler.
- Any good filter suggestions? I used a Mann replacement filter. AMSOil has an interesting filter they call the Ea line. Anybody have any experience with these? Any filters to stay away from?

Around 8,000 miles. I know the old filter probably didn't need to be replaced, as I don't live in an overly dusty area, but I like to do these things about once a year. I figure what the heck, it's vital to the engine and only costs about $23 with shipping.
I tried using a screwdriver and a knife as you described, but they were not much help. It's good that it's a tight fit, but when things fit that tight and are made out of plastic I worry about breaking one of the clips.
I read a little about K&N filters and one thing that worried me was that they seemed to allow a little more of the finer particles to get through. At least that's what some of the tests said. Whether these tests are true I could not say.
