Default anti skid service

Just bought '52 reg s60 auto 2.0T Drove really well on test drive. Had just had new aircon compressor fitted.
10 miles after I paid for it the aircon pump seized. Took it to local garage who told me as the last one had seized too (have got receipt, so will send it back to Euro Car Parts) it may be a low voltage problem, not connecting a/c properly so was going to use short belt and bypass a/c.
Couldn't do that as alternator would be rotating wrong way. So they fitted new aircon pump but not wired in.
Car is now driving really smoothly...........until the anti skid service alert comes on. Next time I slow down (with or without braking) the car judders once then continues ok but it seems to go into safe mode. Hence, very sluggish starting from stationary.
Questions: 1 How much is an anti skid service, approximately?
2 Will I do any damage having it in safe mode? Revs to 2000 before moving off very slowly. Almost like a manual when the clutch is slipping
3 What is the judder?
4 Will aircon compressor survive long as a bypass pulley?
