Bad FPS or PEM ??

Bad FPS or PEM ??
Was looking for some info on diagnosing a possibly bad (fuel pressure sensor) FPS or (pump electric module) PEM.
I have a 2004 S60. At first the car would run fine and after it warmed up it would start to hesitate and eventually stall, fuel pressure would drop to 0 kpa from 380 kpa. Now the car will only run for 15-20 seconds when warm. When I first turn the key on the fuel pump will prime and goto 280kpa the car will start and jump to 380kpa or so. The pressure will drop off in a matter of seconds and stall. I checked the connections on the PEM and they looked fine. I also replaced the FPS and believe I got a bad part because it would not register any fuel pressure when installed. (currently have another on order).
I read somewhere that if you unplug the FPS it should run at full fuel pressure but don't believe this to be true with how this system works how ever the scanner will show 580kpa and car will still stall ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Has a po089 and po191 code.

i unplugged my FPS when working on my car and forgot to plug it in, almost drove an hour with it but it instantly threw a CEL so i got my computer out and fuel system read 0Kpa but the car was running fine. so for a test that should be fine. and the car should run no problem.
to test the fuel pump tho, just remove the rear seat cushion and you have direct access to the fuel pump, apply 12v leads and get out the trusty multi meter (or just replace it and the fuel filter)

Hopefully you're still around on the forums but how did you know it was the PEM? I seems to be having your symptoms however I can smell petrol when starting the car. It might be a leak or clogged fuel line however I just want to know if its possible to diagnose the PEM?
