Default Bogus ABS/STC Warning Lights?

2001 S60 198K runninng fine. Just replaced original battery and Zappo! now I have "ABS Brake Service Required" and "STC Service Required" as warning lights. Both Volvo repair shop and Volvo dealer reset codes for me and they both reappeared immediately. Do I have a problem?

On a 04 s60 193 k just had my speedo and tach stop with my ABS light on and message reading brake failure.Restarting car cleared those messages but then i got engine overheat with the needle in the red. I turned the car off, disconnected the battery and that cleared everything.
