I had a 2011 Volvo XC 60 for about five years. I loved it but it had oil consumption issues. I had an accident and now I知 looking for a new vehicle. I am interested in a 2018 Volvo s 60 T5 inscription or a 2017 Volvo XC 60 dynamic. I知 a little hesitant to buy another Volvo due to the oil consumption issues. Any advice or input on these two vehicles would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Volvo was replacing piston rings under warranty for cars in that year range with an improved design to cure the oil usage problems. It no longer seems to be a problem with the newer cars. Your 2011 t5 was a ~2.4 liter 5 cylinder, or 3/3.2 liter 6 cylinder. After 2016 all Volvos are 4 cyl 2 liter engines. T5 has a turbo, T6 has a turbo and supercharger, T8 ups that with an electric motor powering the rear wheels and a battery replacing the spare tire for plug in, electric only operation.
The inscription has many more bells and whistles, more high end options. One thing I use all the time now is adaptive cruise control - and I've hated using cruise control all my life (until now) . But after using adaptive cruise - I won't buy another car without it. Use it even on city streets - in stop and go traffic.
Sorry about your accident - hope everyone is ok

I have a 2018 s60 T5 inscription and really enjoy driving it. My lease is up in August and am considering buying it. I also had a 2016 s60 dynamic premiere which was mostly the same car. I test drove the 2021 s60 and the xc60 but didn’t like the handling of either car. My only real complaint is about the navigation system. Entering a location is tedious, but often use previous destination which helps. Did you buy a car yet?

We have both a 2017 S60 Inscription (T5 AWD) and a 2019 V60 (T6 AWD).
The S60 was our first ever Volvo and we love it. It's a great daily driver. I prefer cars to CUVs, so I personally recommend the S60 because it sits a little lower. The Inscription is a much nicer package - PARTICULARLY if you have back seat passengers. In the 2015-2018 range, the Inscription is a long wheelbase (LWB) version of the chassis while the Dynamic is a short wheelbase (SWB). The Inscription is a little over 3" longer than the Dynamic, and that is all in the rear seat legroom.
