Buying S60R, anything I should look for?
I'm going to look at an S60R this weekend. Coming from a Mustang Cobra I've had since I was a teen, I know the value that forums hold. I'm sure you guys know of all the most likely things to go wrong with these cars.
Just looking for a little advice on what to look out for. It is an auto-trans. Sucks i know, but my girlfriend needs to be able to drive my car now. 35,000 miles. He says it is pristine condition, but Carfax showed an accident so I dont trust him 100%.
I'm gonna thumb through the forum over the next couple days. Thanks for any help!
One quick question....I see that timing belts are an issue on these cars. Does having a turbo accelerate that problem?

As far as problem start by reading here http://forums.swedespeed.com/forumdi...php?51-R-Forum .Other than that i wish i went with an R when i was looking. The timming belt issue is the cost.Volvo recommends that you replace at 90-100,00 miles and even at a local shop your looking at $800+ to do everything including the water pump. Not sure what your mechanical skill level is but its a doable project for some one with car knowledge. The turbo does nothing to the issue just a poor/cheep rubber belt used buy Volvo for a timing belt.
Look at these vids first:
