Default Catalytic Convertor on a 3.0L T6

Does anyone have any experience on how long a Catalytic convertor should last for the 3.0 Liter T6 engine? This was put in the S60, S80, and in some of the XC60s. Two Volvo Dealership shops and an independent Volvo shop all say around 100K - 130K or so but it depends. If I talk to a Volvo parts supplier or a muffler supplier like magnaflow, they of course say they should last "forever" meaning the life of the car. I've never had a car where the CAT lasted more than 130,000-140,000 miles on any car I've ever driven. In my opinion to say they last the life of the vehicle would be stretching it as there are alot of reasons that fuel wouldn't burn clean.

I've got two cars that have this motor in them and them both went out. One was around 100,000 miles and the other was at 125,000. Of course when I talk to the company that sold me the CAT I went with on one of the cars, they try to fish around and say that the CAT should last forever. Anyways, I decided on the S60 to go with the IPD SS High Flow Downpipe - IPD Part Number 139383. Has anyone else here tried that particular downpipe/CAT? IPD is out of Portland and they do Volvo specialty parts and say there should be no reason their CAT would go out early. I still haven't had it diagnosed with the special Volvo computer to narrow down the issue so it may be something else, besides the CAT, but the code on got on my code reader is P0420 which is the bank 1 oxygen sensor or the CAT.

The car in particular for this case went 125,000 on it's original CAT. It's a 2013 S60 T6 R-Design AWD.

This particular car made it 4,500 miles before that P0420 code popped up again. The check engine light has since cycled on and off again a couple of times and is currently off, but I'm expecting it to come back on. Not sure what my issue is, but I wouldn't think the sensors are bad since they are new. They are Denso branded sensors but Denso makes the electronics for these cars so that shouldn't be an issue. I might end up having to go to a Volvo indy shop and have them hook it up to a Volvo computer. Is there any other way to tell looking at different diagnotics coming from a code reader? I've got a code reader that can graph various engine diagnostics. Also, the car still looks good and I've kept up with all the maintenance on the vehicle and even do all the recommended extra recommended oil and gas treatments when they pop up to keep all the crap out of the engine, so I don't think my engine is killing the CAT. Any ideas anyone? Thanks
