Default Changing Headlamp Bulbs

Is there any other way to access the headlamp bulbs other than through the engine bay (access ports behind the headlight assembly)? I want to install an HID kit (which I still need to purchase) but don't want to start anything unless I can do it to completion. My lights (all) are on all the time while the engine is running as they act as DRL's. I go through headlight bulbs 2-3 times per year and need to take it to the dealer just to change the bulbs because I can't fit my hand in the access area.
Any suggestions? Thks!

actually with simple hand tools, it is very simple to pull the whole headlamp assembly and very easily change the bulbs.

Heads up on the HID kit in advance...
It is possible that no matter what you do and no matter how hard you try you are going to end up with bulb out warnings..
This happens in most cases after installing a 35w HID kit, and still happens in some cases with 55w kits..

Is the bulb for your car H11?
Also, if you use top quality bulbs such as these http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...term=N10529701 they should last longer

How much has the dealer been charging? You know that if you purchase bulbs from Advance, Autozone, NAPA, O'reileys etc they will install them for free

The 03 S60 headlights r always on the moment u turn on d ignition key. So what I do is to turn d headlight switch to the park light position when engine is running and d headlight is turned off. But u have to remember to switch it off upon turning off engine.

The s80 headlight is the same exact thing and I only blew one bulb in 4 years...
Not sure how come you seem to run through bulbs quicker..

Check out your manual and tell me what type of bulb the S60 uses, then I can find you the best deal on it

You don't need to pull the assembly. I'm an adult too and I never have to pull them to do the bulbs.

Wow, good way of trying to get free help. Feel free to call me an *** as well.

The threads that I have seen for replacing headlamp bulbs pretty much say that you may need to remove things that are behind the headlamp assembly to get to the bulb. The headlamp assembly should not need to be removed.

Hi all..how to change a Low beam bulb on a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T..tools needed small hands and H11bulb almost al auto stores have them including Meijers..

Need H11 bulb.. This light has 2 bulbs The H 11 is top Bigger bulb..
Remove rubber splash guard it has a Tab on top..look like a Black margarine dish top
find top bulb by looking in the front of headlight assembly..(remember this needed to install)
Bulb wire harness is pointed Down.. Rotate it to 45 degrees CCW(counter clock wise) looking at it from engine compartment. bulb should be hard to difficult to remove due to Red O-ring seal (more than likely this will be stuck to light fixture..

I used a wire coat hanger with end bent at 90+ degrees Like a fish hook.
Light plug has short Black wire so you might get it away from lamp assembly 2" at most.. Beware location of this black wire during installation it can get caught in light bulb Keys..(3 male metal prongs that you will need to line up with female slots in light fixture)
Reverse this process to install bulb.. Good luck.. This is the way to do this unlike the rest of posts I wont give some bs link to sell stuff..as For ES6T.. I have never encountered a more Rude obnoxious Forum Clown as ES6T..
((( READ 1st)))
There is no wire retaining clip.. you can not remove front bumper hold downs ..so dont waste your time trying this...

tntpoof, many thanks for your help. My son has a 2007 S60 T5 and your post was exactly what we needed after spending over 30 minutes trying to figure it out on our own.
