How do you check the transmission fluid on the 2001 S60? I have looked all over the engine compartment and the owners manual and cannot find a dipstick for this? Is it a closed system of some sort?

 

The dipstick is hard to locate.
It is way down there basically hidden behind the lower radiator hose.

Hi I am having the same problem on my 2001 S60 Automatic Transmission, butI thinkI found it on the right side of the engine. Does it have a yellow cap on it? I am disabled and althoughI can reach it I can not pull it out. Have I found it or is it locked in some way. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks everyone.

 

Yes, yellow cap, but there is an aluminum clip that needs to be pushed away from the dipstick to pull it out. It was tough for me to do this with only one hand but not impossible. Plan to have grease up and down your arm/hand and on your clothes.
