I'm new to this forum and also new with Volvo's. I've seen some ecu upgrades and was wondering if upgrading the ecu is a more efficent way to gain power? In a 2.4T S60 w/ AWD (I dont own one I'm thinking about getting one used)

Also before you get an ECU upgrade perform a STAGE ZERO on the car. I don't care if it is brand new right out of the factory. DO IT. You will save yourself tons of grieve if you do.
I also suggest you get an BOOST/VAC gauge before getting an ECU upgrade. See what your boosting stock and then notice the change with the ECU upgrade. Also this is a great tool to diagnose your car if you have problems. No one makes gauge pods for the s60's, but you could custom mount it in another location.
Also do you want a little more performance out of your ride? Get a turboback exhaust. 3" mandrel bent downpipe to a 2.5" mandrel bent catback system with a free flowing muffler like MAGNAFLOW. You will see the most gains with the downpipe.
Then added with BSR or another ECU upgrade your talking some nice power.

RE: chip tuning?
Hello. I’m new here and just purchased a 2002 S60 AWD too. It’s a perfect car with 32k miles on it, and it’s primarily for my wife. It looks like JetChips can reprogram this car for $300. I called them and talked with the programmer and he said that he could get 25hp at the wheels with their tune without increasing the boost on the car.
Does this sound reasonable to everyone hear, and can the boost level be raised “reliably” on this car? I would appreciate anyone’s opinion.
Thanks!
