Default Clattering!!!!

Hi
I have a 2002 S60 with 123,544KLMs on it. Recently a clattering has started on the Drivers side of my car where the belts are. I cant really ID where the sound is coming from. I checked my steering pump and it has fluid, and the steering is that same as it always has been..... I placed my finger against the sepentine belt tensioner and I didnt feel any vibration in time with the clattering..... I have removed the timing belt cover and checked the belt all seems ok and I have also check the serpentine belt and it is in excellent condition.....I have alsocleaned the engine and check for leaks..overnight paper trick and nothing not a drop....Does anyone else have an idea what the clattering could be? Also the clattering is predominately loudwhen the car is in idle, when I accelerate slightly up to say 1.5RPM it stops??? also sometimes the clattering will go away in idle and not start up again until the car is warm...I am really stumped at what it could be. It does sound to me like loose ball bearings? but wouldnt the sound get worse with more revs???
The car drives just as well as it always has but can it be that the power steering pump is on it way out?
Any pointers would be great!!
