Default Clutch Replacement

Hello
I have a 2004 S60R and it needs a clutch replacement. I have found the parts online and was wondering how hard it is to change myself or a local mechanic could do. The dealership is overpriced at 2500 dollars. Thanks and I am new to the fourm.

Welcome.
It is not the easiest task, and it depends how handy you are.IMO...I would just go to a local transmissionshop and have it done.

It is a pain to do. Special tools are needed to do it.

Thanks,
Will the shops have the tools the the volvo dealership uses? I do not want to cheap out if they are going to do a poor job I just thought 2500 was a lot for a clutch.

2400 for a clutch is A lot of money. You could get a race clutch and have it installedand still save like $700.
If it is a good transmission shop, they should know what they are doing.

They might not have the exact tools the Dealers has but that doesn't mean they cannot do the job right.
I would try to find a local place that has really good reviews online.
