Default correct transmission fluid for S60

Hello:
May I seek advice in regard to changing the transmission fluid in the 2002 S60 with Geartronic Transmission. I had it changed in December 2008 and have driven about 4,000 miles since then (total mileage on my 2002 Volvo is 78,000).
I have been experiencing odd sharp kicks (from transmission) during driving when gears are changing up (usually) and so was inspired to check fluid...quite a challenge! When engine is cold, the dipstick is registering filled to over the HOT level so it appears to be overfilled. The fluid is a brown color.

The national chain that changed the transmission fluid in December, 2008 used
ATS10-AUTO TRANS SVC 10 QT
DEX-AUTOMATIC TRANS FLD QT
The whole business cost $124.

I am wondering if these strange hearty kicks I am experiencing while driving is related to the type of fluid or other factor. Does the
brown color of fluid indicate that it needs changing again? To a particular transmission fluid? Is it being overfilled a serious matter?

I will so appreciate your insight.

Grit.

Appears they may have used the incorrect fuid...........check out the Sticky that the other poster recommended. If they used the incorrect fluid and damaged the trans, you might be able to go after them but read your paperwork on what it says about their obligation to correct problems they caused when servicing transmissions.
