Default electrical problems

Have an 02 S60 T5 with 157K on it. Replaced the thermostat housing and sending unit this weekend and had to disconnect battery for some time for the computer to recognize the new sending unit. After reconnecting battery, drove car and noticed that none of the controls below the radio are working. There is no lighting or functionality. The dash lights are lit on the shifter but the orange light does not come on to tell you what gear you are in. Everything else in the car is fine. I checked every fuse in trunk, on the side of the dash and under the hood. All are ok. Any ideas or suggestions would be appriciated.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery again and put the positive and negative cables together for 5 minutes to discharge the capasitors and then connect the battery and see if it works.

Then you might need to get the codes pulled from the car and take it from there.

Thanks for all the advise. Ended up taking the car to the dealer and they had to reprogram the computer with the climate control software. $185 later, works great.
