I have an opportunity to purchase a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5t awd. Not always been a car that I wanted but it is a great deal from my in-laws. It has 120,000mi on it. What would I be looking to get into for upcoming repairs? Is there any reason I shouldn't buy this car? I drive a lincoln so I am very familiar with that but volvos are not something I know much about and appreciate all help with the knowledge that you guys have to help me make a decision.

Although I'm driving a 2.0T FWD...
Suspension is an issue that they all share in common IMHO, more specifically front suspension mounts, silentblocks etc, worst case scenario about 400 Euros here, all included.
Timing belt as well, better safe than sorry, about 220 Euros. That's all I had to take care of so far.
I'd gladly buy the car if price is right.

First where has the maintenance been done and were thing done on time ?? If it was done with the dealer and on time. Then i say you have a great car in front of you. Suspension starts to get loose at 100k yes but as long as the Engine and Tranys is in Good shape these things are no problem as a DIY project. Timing belt is the Big $$ at 100k checkup its $800 dealer job....Other than TB its time for the Transmission fluid to be changed ..Oil changes and keep your eyes on the Engine mounts. Upper Engine and lower transmission go first but are very easy to replace...
