Default Fuel Filter

I have a 2004 S60 2.5T. I've read a bunch of threads looking for the fuel filter placement. They say under the car either drivers or passengers side. Not on my car. I have 34300 miles, and have a mid RPM miss, (3800-5000). Starts dropping cylindersand pops a check engine light with P0193 code. Some rumors are that the filter is on the Tank ?? I traced the main fuel line form the take to the fuel rail. No filter to be seen. This is the first problem I've had with the car,, other than that it is a rocket.. easts Rice for lunch. good for the diet ya know.. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Pete

The 2004 has a Non-Servicable filter in the tank.
I assume you have a metal tank correct?

That is correct. Metal it is. also the associated check engine light went out all on it's own, don't you usally have to reset it with a computer ??

Search the forum. There are posts that list the steps to getting the CEL to go off.

The code is most likely still there but and Intermitant fault.
After so long if it doesn't see the fault again the light will turn off but the code is still there.

UPDATE,, I spoke with the dealer about this and they said that there is a recall on 2004 S60's for the fuel rail pressure sensors. just not gone public with the recall. I guess they are fixing them as they come in and owners complain..
