Fuel injector question
Hello all, I have this 2002 Volvo S60 non-turbo sedan that needs a fuel injector replaced. I contacted a salvage yard and they say that I need the color and the number of the injector in order to get a replacement. How would I be able to access the injectors, I have never done injectors before on any vehicle.

That doesn't seem right and based on what you see at IPD or Rock Auto they are not asking for an injector number or color when you put and injector in your cart. Rock Auto has several choices for reman injectors, one as low as $28 with a core. Maybe just go that route if you are trying to do it on the cheap. IPD wants $223 for a new Bosch injector.
I have not been into the injectors myself, but reading through the Haynes manual pulling the fuel rail amounts to removing 2 torx bolts and releasing some clips. Doesn't seem too intimidating.

Hmmmmmm, upon my research I have found that the fuel injectors are different colors for different pressures and may be numbered for the correct cylinder, but I could be wrong. I won't be driving the car for a bit and just might pull the injectors out and get exact replacements from the salvage yard and then take the original ones to the college that I attend and have them tested in the auto shop.
