Fuel Rail Sensor Pressure

Fuel Rail Sensor Pressure
All,
I own a 2004 S-60 2.5T. My check engine light came on and the error message was "Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input". I did some research on this forum and others and found that there is a recall 181 for some models of the S-60.
I contacted the dealer and they indicated that the recall 181 did not apply to my vehicle, based on my VIN.
Just recently, I have started to experience random loss of power. This sometimes occurs at low RPM as I am trying to accelerate. It does not occur too often, but is starting to be a concern.
Advice anyone? Should I replace the "fuel pressure sensor" located at the end of the fuel rail myself?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Fuel Rail Sensor Pressure
Tech,
Thanks much for the recommendation. After our local dealer quoted my wife 2.3 hours labor hours to install the part, I decided to order the part and install it myself.
I did phone the dealer service department and question their charging of 2.3 labor hours. After I quoted some of the literature from Volvo on recall 181 bulletin which states that Volvo pays the 0.3 hours for the install, the service rep indicated that there was apparently an error in his software and actually they supposed to charge 0.6 hours labor (about 80 dollars).
He thanked me for "helping him become aware of the software error", he assured me that he would take action to have the software corrected. He then offered to set up the install.
I would have gladly payed $80 dollars for the installation However, the original quote of 2.3 labor hours (more than $250) for what appears to be an easy job seems quite excessive. My wife was feeling a bit insulted at this point and recommended that seek another path to resolving the problem.
I do not want to turn this into a dealer bashing thread. Instead I would like to say thanks to you and the others who have posted so much information about the fuel pressure sensor and recall 181.
I will let everyone know how the install goes.
