fuse keeps blowing
I have a 2003 s60 and was wondering if any can help me....my car keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse in position 38, this fuse deals with the car alarm and in addition effects the operation of the sunroof. I replace the fuse and everything worked okay...I went to open the sunroof and it would not open, I checked to see and found that the fuse had blown again! Any ideas as to why this is happening/what the cause is and how to fix it?? It obviously has to do with the car's alarm system as i get a message stating that i need to service the cars alarm system i only seem to get this message when the fuse is blown....any ideas of what i can do? thanks for everyones help it is appreciated! Carlton

Hi,
The siren will not sound when the panic button is pressed. I'm sure your siren module has failed, but since the fuse is burning out there is a slight chance that you have a shorted power wire instead.
I'd go ahead and replace the module to be on the safe side, since it is a high failure item and it causes many annoying problems when it goes.
A new module would run you about $190 and an hour or so in the garage.
Here's a good reference: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/for...p?f=11&t=17479
The tamper bolt has a slight lip, so it is possible to remove it with a pair of pliers, eliminating the need to drill it out.
