Greetings - New User with a S60 Issue
Greetings all from Georgia. My wife purchase a 2015.5 S60 with the beige leather interior back in December 2014. Shortly after that (2-3 weeks) we noticed the back of the seat around the lumbar area was changing color to a blackish/gray color. We went to the dealer and they felt it was possibly a bad batch of leather and ordered a set of replacement covers for both seats and they were replaced on Feb 13 of this year. Now, the exact same thing is occurring again. Any ideas of suggestions? She loves the car but is getting very frustrated over this. Thanks all
Could it be the seat buckles? I noticed my seat buckle on the seat portion rub the leather and is causing it to crack a little bit in my 2012. My 2011 does not have this issue, but it's leather is not as refined as my 2012 R-design S60. I now make sure I have something covering it now. Could be grease or hand grime that is rubbing off.
Your leather needs to be protected using the Volvo leather care kit. It comes with a cleaner and a protectant and sells for $50. We used to get the blackish color on our Beechwood leather (dark orange) and the protection cream stops it for about 3 months. Cream leather shows everything, and probably needs protecting more often.
