Headlamp Removal
#2
No, you need to get at the whole thing, you don't have to take the whole bumper off (you can leave the opposite side somewhat connected) but you will get to things you didn't think you needed to, like the top of the radiator cover. The front wheel on the side of the light has to come off as you have to gain access to one or two clips in the wheel well at the front to gain access to some of the back of the light (that you can't get to from the front). Since the headlamp cover is glass there is no flexibility so you can't "wedge" it in there. If the new headlamp came with a new gasket make sure you take ALL of the old gasket out of there or it will drive you crazy trying to press it in. Make sure its warm where the repair is so the gasket has flexibility. The shiny metal clips are a real pain the butt too, you don't think you'll get them in but you need to make sure the headlamp is perfectly seated into its space so the clips go on easier. I can't recall every little detail of the replacement but with paitence you will make it work, there are no short cuts. Good luck.
