HELP! low beam bulb failure despite changing bulb 2005s60
Hi everyone -
I have a huge problem. My 2005 s60 has a low beam failure issue.
1. Check bulb - it's the passenger side that is not working
2. Change bulb - it is the twist in kind it would not come out
3. Remove bumper
4. Replace bulb
5. The bulb works - so I re-assembled
6. Turned car on and the bulb comes on but goes right off
7. Checked fuses #17 & #20 under hood both 20amp - look fine
8. Switched fuses for good luck - still not working
9. Purchased another bulb to ensure it wasn't a faulty bulb - same problem
HELP - I don't know what to do next. The connector seems just fine.
It's my wife's car and if I don't fix it quick she is going to get mad...

I have a similar problem
I have a 2004 N/A. A while ago the plastic conectors to the low beam headlights broke. My quick fix was just to conect the wires to the bulb
This morning I noticed that one headlight was brighter that the other one. I poped the hood and noticed that one conector had plastic melting off. I went to disconect it but it was so hot that I burned myself. Hotter than it should be. Eventually I unplugged it and drove away.
I went to the parts store and purchased two brand new bulbs. Now the conector wires that were really hot don't work. I pluged in both bulbs, and same problem. I called Volvo to purchase 2 brand new headlight harnesses and they tell me that the only thing they sell is the plastic piece and not the wires.
so I went to Pep boys and purchased two H7 harnesses. I spliced in the bad one and still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
