High Temp warning
Hello all
I have a 2002 S60. I went to start the car and the temperature guage pegged all the way over to the red and the High Temp message came on. Problem was that it was around 38 deg outside and the engine was off all night. I tired to start the car that afternoon when it was around 54 deg's and it still did the same thing.
Any ideas as to what is causing this and estimate as to how much to get it fixed?
Thanks in advance.
James

Hi James,
My thoughts are that it may be your coolant temperature sensor. I know the part doesnt cost too much ($45) but I dont know about labor. But I would wait to hear what tech has to say.

If it is the thermostat in the upper hose setup it is pretty easy to replace.
I would also replace the thermostat as well.
If it is in the front of the engine it is like 2 hours labor to replace.
