Hooking up an IPOD to the S60
Does anyone know about the basic S60 stereo (single CD Player with cassette)? I want to hook up an IPOD to it, and the only way that I can see to do it is to remove the stereo and see if the cassette player is attached with RCA plugs. If so, then I'll disconnect the cassette player and use the wires to connect an IPOD. But I do not want to tear it out to find everything hard wired without any disconnect-able wires. Any help would be appreciated.

Theres a few direct iPod solutions. I have a USA-SPEC connector. It works really well but with my ipod touch sometimes I get a light static.
There is no RCA plugs on the back of it. Do not unplug your stereo without putting your key in the I (or maybe its the II position) and unplugging your battery or you will cause it to lock its self, requiring a code from the dealer.

I have the HU-803(4cd changer) and I was wondering if I could unhook the CDchanger in the back of the player and hook up a headphone jack there somewhere? I just want to be able to use my mp3 player which is a lot easier than changing CD's everyday.
Is this possible?

Crutchfield (and Ebay) sell a kit to directly connect your iPod thru the factory stereo—uses a jack in back for adding a changer.
You can take it with you! Just because you've got a factory radio in your car, doesn't mean you have to leave your iPod (and the hours and hours of music it contains) at home. Just install USA SPEC's iPod interface — it not only allows you to listen to all your favorite tunes through your car's speakers, it even lets you control song and playlist selections right from your radio.
Just mount the compact interface box in a hidden location in your vehicle, and connect the adapter cable to the CD changer input on your compatible 2001-up Volvo factory radio. Plug your iPod into the interface — you can control volume, source, song selection, and up to five different play lists right from the radio. And the interface charges your iPod while it's connected! (Note: the adapter is compatible with all iPod and iPod mini models equipped with a dock connector and iPod software update 2004-04-28, or higher.)
I am seriously considering one. For the record, FM transmitters have been hit and miss for me. I had one that worked great but it broke, replaced with an identical one that sucks. sounds like on old tape with the Dolby on.

I use the cassette adapter after I have heard severalof my friend's transmitters that sound like garbage. It's like 12-14 bucks. Bought mine @ Wal-Mart too.
That Crutchfield thing sounds awesome but I don't know if I could connect it by myself so I might be looking at much more than $140, which is WAY more than the $14 bucks that gets the job done.

USA SPEC PA11 Converter
I'm considering buying one of the USA SPEC PA11 direct converters for my s60r.
Amazon.com: USA SPEC PA11-VOL iPod to Volvo Factory Radio Interface with Auxiliary Audio input: Car Electronics
Does anyone have one? If so, is it worth it?
Thanks!

I have the cassette adapter. Honestly, I don't think all the high priced gadgets to connect an ipod are even worth it. When it gets down to it, it does the exact same thing as the cassette adapter, but at ten times the price. I've compared sound between the adapter to everything else and there is barely a difference in sound, if at all
