My winshield got nailed buy a large pebble on the freeway. How much do they cost and can it only be done at the dealer?

 

Any glass company will do it. I got a visit from the rock fairy myself this past summer and insurance covered it 100% as it is a safety related issue in Kentucky. Looking at the invoice the insurance company got billed $272 but that might be a wholesale price the glass company charges.

 

Yea ours would to but or deductable is 250$. I got one quoted for 202 installed from one of those big name deals online. I just don't want to cheap out on something that important but if it doesn't matter..

 

I would check with your insurance company. Like I said it is a security related issue here and they don't cut corners on those things like stop lights, windshields, etc. It shows up as a glass claim not like an accident or at-fault type claim so I would check with them if they'd cover the whole thing. I am pretty happy with the replacement windshield I got.
