I HATE my after market stereo
I sent it to get put in and I hate the sound. I hate the controls and I hate not being able to use the steering wheel. I know I can buy something so that I can but I just don't like this thing. I paid 50 bucks to get this put in and I know they had to do a bunch of stuff to it because I ordered from crutchfield and it shows all the steps you have to do to install it yourself.
My question is. Do I have to pay to get my old stereo put back in? I know you have to mess with the wires a lot. But if I just follow the first few steps for install in the after market stereo and just plug the old one back in will it still work? Or did I just screw up my car?
I'm really upset. Everyone says it sounds better after, but mine sounds WORSE to me and I just hate the way it looks.
If I can't just simply switch it back out can someoen help me with the process getting my old stereo back in?

If it was all plug in type connections then it should be easy to switch back. If they had to cut and splice wires, then, unless you are very comfortable around electronics, I would have the same person put the old one back in.
Probably not. Aftermarket sound guys run new wires primarily to clean up the signal and pull power back to the trunk. Once those wires are in place, they're re-usable. Only difficulty usually would be if they're wired to an amp in the trunk that your OEM stereo won't feed, rather than wired direct to the back of the stereo in the dash.
Before you spend who knows how much more money to put it all back. Theoretically could be more than $50 you spent on installation. Why don't you call crutchfield and ask them why do they think it's happening and if there is any way to get controls back to the steering wheel. What was the reason to replace the original unit in the first place? I'd really try to learn to like it though
