Default Immobilized?

Hmmmm....

My son just came in. He was going to use the '02 T5 to drive his gf home.

It seems the T5 won't start. The text display shows "Immobilizer - See Manual."

I know the key worked yesterday.

Any pointers?

After having the car towed to the dealership, I'm told the "battery was weak", but is now holding a full charge? I have a remote starter on this car and believe it to have been involved with the immobilizer issue. I'll see how it goes...

Hope it works out. When the battery starts to go all kinds of weird things seem to happen with these cars. For an '02, I would probably just replace it and be done with it.

I'll swap in a new battery, just to be safe. I get the car back mid-week, as its not a priority and will be parked for a while.
