I just bought 2007 S60. One thing I didnt realize before was that there are not bells/alarms to remind me that either the key is still in the ignition or that the lights are off...The second day I had it I left the running lights on and drained the battery. Is this by design or is something wrong.

I also forgot to mention that there is no seatbelt reminder alarm as well...

I have an 01 S60 and my headlights turn on and off automatically with the ignition. I never touch the headlight switch.

There is a chime when the key is left in the ignition.

 

I hate to admit it, but it is a necessary evil. We're all responsible, but the other morning I heard on the radio "...four people killed in an accident....thrown from the vehicle...not wearing seat belts...".
Sure, it's okay to tell the dealer to disable the alarm...but what if someone other than you is driving the vehicle (child, another owner, etc.)?
Being driven crazy is better than being driven to the morgue.
I started the thread not advocating driving without the belts, but to see how long anyone could endure the alarm.

I have drained my battery by leaving the running lights on too, there is no chime on my 2003 for leaving the running lights on. It does turn off all the lights if the headlights are on and I do have a chime if I don't have my seatbelt on. Would be nice if there were a parking light chime.

 

I have a 2007 S40 and there is a constant beeping noise that happens every 30 seconds. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how I can reset this?
