jewel / diamond lens headlight housing
i'm not sure what its called, but i believe its either jewel lens or diamond cut lens-- anyway... i wanted to know if there are any options in changing/swapping out my headlight housing. I've got the stock halogen, black housing... and wanted the "clean" look of the newer model headlight housings found on the newer models. Is there any way to do it without converting to the HID projectors?
coudnt find anything through google or ebay

The "jewel" look your referring something called "flutting" it's the name for the ripples in the glass or plastic. There is a way to remove it by sanding it down and buffing. I personally have never done it, but I've read threads on www.hidplanet.com where some people have removed the flutting. It's a pretty time consuming process if I remember correctly.

I am interested in doing this too. I think that 2004 and later S60s have the design you are referring to, and I believe that they will fit without an issue. Unfortunately, they are over $300 each assembly, if you are looking at the halogen version. I will probably do it anyway, and also do a 4300k HID conversion at the same time, with total out-of-pocket of under a grand. I would love to hear if anybody has done a conversion of this type, and has pictures of it..

...sanding down the flutting... sounds risky. I couldnt trust myself with that. Wouldnt sanding (regardless of grit count) "rough" up the cleanliness of the lens?... oh well, maybe if you wetsand with a very fine gritcount that could be accomplished-- but thats too much work
anyway... i'm gonna look for the 04+ housings online-- i'll let u guys know what prices i find.
