Default Key not detected after battery change

I have a 2013 S60 T5 that I bought a couple of weeks ago. Very unfamiliar with it. Dash was saying low key fob battery. I replaced it. Now I can not walk up to the car and unlock it by pulling the handle and I now have to enter the fob into the slot for the car to start. I replaced both remote batteries. Before replacing the batteries in the fob I could start the car with the key in my pocket and it would unlock when approaching the car and pulling the handle. The fob does still lock, unlock and open the trunk. It is a 6 button PCC fob. Does this need to reprogrammed at the dealer? I could have also maybe cleared the key wireless trying to figure out how to reset the maintenance over due message. Any help I would appreciate . thank you

double check to make sure the fob's new battery is the correct size, properly seated etc. not likely resetting the service interval light would mess with the fob.
