Default Limp Mode/Bad ETM/Engine shaking?

2002 S60 non-turbo

When I first bought this car 2 months ago the first day I drove it it suddenly stopped accelerating in the middle of going about 40mph. The RPM's would go up but no acceleration. I stopped the car and popped the hood while it was till on. The engine was shaking like crazy and you could feel it inside the cabin. Sort of like it was fighting to stay on. I may have to replace a mount.

Last night and this morning it did the same thing (twice this morning). I notice that if I try to accelerate it will stay at around 20-30mph. The RPM's will go up and that's it. If I stop I can notice the engine shaking abruptly. I'm scared this shaking will cause further expensive damage.

I had to turn the car off twice this morning and wait a few minutes so I could finish driving to work.

I've read about limp mode which it seems to be in when it does this. I've also read that the ETM might go bad, but I haven't noticed the weird RPM needle behavior like in other cars when idling.

I figure my first step is to remove the ETM and give it a good cleaning and visual check. Do I just need to make sure the key is out of the ignition before removing it or will I need to disconnect the battery for this?

What other things could I try/do to fix this?

My VIN only had one recall for the fuel pump and it was replaced, but nothing on the ETM.

My mechanic co-worker put the scanner on, here's what I got:

I figure a good cleaning is in order, then I'll go from there.

Yeah clean it first for those codes. Don't spray anything directly into it though. Spray a rag and wipe it until clean.

Yup, that's what I did last night following a video tutorial on YouTube.

I drove fine to work this morning and haven't had any issues so far, the mechanic cleared the codes yesterday so they haven't come up as of now. I cleaned the MAF sensor as well while I was on it. Let's see how it goes.
