It's just about time to replace my old Subaru and i'm seriously looking at picking up a used S60 from around 2011-2012. I have a few requirements that i'd like some opinions on and need some information as well.

First of all i was attracted by the 3500 pound tow rating! I do a pile of highway miles getting to and from work but would be looking to tow around 2500-3000 pounds a half dozen or so times a year, and do realize i'm limited by tongue weight. The T5 is considerably cheaper but would i regret going this route when i do need to tow? Also will the transmission handle this or are there tranny cooler options available?

Also debating between FWD and AWD. I live in Canada and love the AWD in my Subaru but do so many highway miles i have to consider how long the drive line will last and what it will cost to replace. Is the AWD in the Volvo up to this kind of driving or is it higher maintenance?

Only other question for now is if there is a list somewhere or if someone could tell me what the major service intervals are, mainly belts and how often they need valves done. I've done quite a bit of work on sport bikes and would be looking forward to having an inline motor under the hood, my Subi needs valve gaskets done and i am not touching that damn flat motor.
