Default Looking for S60 muffler,

I was looking at buying a remus muffler and just doing it myself, is that even possible? I want more sound and dont want to spend $700 on exaust, any help?

Also its a 2004 s60 2.5t 2521cc

Tips for mods would be appreciated .

Welcome to the forum.
It's very possible, though you'll get the best sound and performance from a full turbo back system. Before you go with a Muffler only option, see about having an exhaust shop up in your area make you a custom (mandrel bent) CAT back exhaust. Usually you can get something made for about half of what an "off the shelf" kit will cost.

I've never heard a Remus muffler on a Volvo before, but there's a few local S40 guys in the Seattle area that have gone with a Flowmaster muffler and they sounded pretty good. It should sound really close to the 2.5T, as they still have the 5 cylinder engines with either a 2.4L or 2.5L. See about getting on Youtube and searching for sound clips. If you do just a muffler, I'd Also do a resonator delete (replace with a straight pipe) and it'll sound even better.
Hope this helps you some.

I would always choose flowmaster just didn't think it was a possibility.I was looking online a while ago and watched some videos and found a 2.4 with a flowmaster muffler that sounds great. Also my buddy has them and again, they sound great. so maybe just head to one of the local exhaust shops and get a quote?

Also thinking about buying R intake manifold, would this improve performance dramatically?
