Default Message on console meaning

Good morning all,

Just bought a second hand V60 Geartronic D3 and I got this message on my console (See attached).

Could somebody let me know what it means? Can I still drive it?

Thank you in advance.

Jose

Where is this car original from? Portugal?

I noticed it's has km/h and so I'm assuming either Europe or Canada?

I've never seen that message on US cars, but the message appears to be similar to when the Start/Stop button is pushed when the brake pedal is NOT depressed telling you the car is ON but the engine hasn't started.

Without the brake depressed, the car's engine won't start, but the electronics will come on and in many cases it will tell you to depress the brake pedal or alert you that the system is on. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the quick reply!
The car is from the Netherlands, you're right.
What about the second image that shows the door and hood highlighted?

Thanks

The open-door graphic and illuminated warnings in the second image are more common. I see it quite regularly when the car's door or hood are not completely shut. And, it appears the seatbelt is not fastened. These are all pretty common safety alerts. Basically, if the ECU sees an open circuit (i.e. door open), then it sends a signal that is alerts via a visual icon/graphic and in some cases an audible tone.

Nothing to be alarmed about unless the door or hood is properly shut and seatbelt is buckled and the warning still illuminates. If it does, then you might have a micro-switch malfunction in the seatbelt and door/hood locking mechanism.

Thank you for the reply. I hope it's just that. I've had an instance driving where the belt alarm was just popping on and off. Maybe it's that circuit you talked about.

Once again, thank you for your help.

Cheers,

José
