RE: michelins primacy vs symetry
I went to a 17" tire on my S60, up from a 16". The selection of Michelins was limited and the price was getting to high. I ended up going with the Fuzion Hri. They are a little bit noisier than the Michelins, although that may be attributed to the lower profile. Haven't had them on for a long time but they seem to be wearing well. They were about half the price of the Michelins.

RE: Michelin's primacy vs symmetry
With tires you get what you pay for. I cheeped out once and bought Falken tires instead of Michelin's. Absolute junk. Paid about 1/2 the price of a set of Michelin's and got about 1/2 the life. As a bonus the tires started making lots of noise at about 5000 miles and gas mileage was down compared to the Michelin's.
I put MichelinPrimacy tires back on, and now I have a vehicle that doesn't sound like a helicopter is following me every were I go.

i know michelins are great. Have Fuzions on my Saab 95 Wagon and not too happy with them. The 60 is the wifes car so she wants a nice quiet and comfortable ride so i should probably pop for the primacys. I have heard good things about the Kuhmo's though. Any thoughts on those?

I have them on the R now not to bad of a tire.
We used to sell them at the Dealer I was at and people liked them alot compaired to the Michelins.
But I have the 17's on the R and none will give me a great ride.
But great in wet or dry weather.
I like them alot and only paid about $320.00 for the full set.

My R came with the optional 18" Michelin Pilot Sport but when it came time for a new set I wasn't willing to part with $1200, so I switched over to a BFGoodrich g-force T/A 2, and they were only $780 for the set... and have handled just as well... I agree you should't go cheap cause you do get what you pay for... but do look at some equal quality competitors and you should be able to find what you're looking for and for a decent price. Just shop around its the best thing you can do... tirerack.com is a great website to help you do just this.
