Love my new 2016 V60. But there are a few minor issues that really bug me. Like the fact that the wiper control stick is just about an inch from the steering wheel. I am constantly hitting it when I reach for the dashboard or even when loosely holding the wheel and my knuckles brush against it. Many times I've had people honk at me to tell me my rear wipers are running ( I live in the desert in Southern California and I'm thinking about just removing the rear wiper)!

I'm considering using a heat gun cautiously around the middle of the stick to allow it to bend away a bit. Has anyone tried this before with success? Could whatever's inside (like wires) take the heat?
