I am in Rochester NY

ES6T The noise is a high pitched electical buzzing that lasts about 2 minutes after you open the unlocked car door. What do you think it is? It doesn't happen all the time which is what makes me wonder if it is normal.

Thanks
STD

Can you take a video? Sounds like the throttle from your description.

ES6T what is your expertise about Volvo? Why then do not all the Volvo's have this sound? Perhaps you would buy my car and live with the noise.

Default S80 Sound

The sound is happening more frequently now. Today it happened immediatelty when I drove the car and then turned off the engine. The sound continued for about 2 minutes. So that does not seem like a start up the throttle scenario. I have a video but I can't upload it.
It is in I phone or Quick Time format.

Mine makes the same noises. I wouldn't worry about the noise. All 3 of the Chevy Traverses and the Audi A4 I have had in the last 4 years have all made similar noises. The best explanation I have read is it's the electronic systems turning on to prepare to start the car.

Default Buzz Sound

I have a 2003 S60 and I listended to the video that was posted, and mine makes the exact same sound. it started being intermittent, making the buzz every 5-10 seconds, but now it does it continuously. It seems to stop after a minute or two.

I originally thought it might be a cooling fan bearing going bad. I do not notice it when I open the doors, only after I start the car and then turn it off.

It even does it of I just start the car to move it a very short distance and shut it off.

Question Buzzing Noise

I have a 2015 S60 T5. It makes the same noise. Once I realized it was coming from under the hood I just started pulling fuses out of the fuse panel. Fuse F38 under the hood cause the noise to stop immediately. Reinstall the fuse, noise returns. That should narrow down what is causing it.

I have a 2001 s60 2.4t and it does the exact same thing, as far as I can tell it is coming from the alarm siren.
