Default normal lug nuts?

Hi Volvo guys,

Might be a silly question but are the lug nuts on the passengers side of the car normal right hand threads? Trying to take them off with a 4 foot cheater bar and they will not break free. I just want to make sure I am trying to turn them in the right direction before I twist the head off. I can't get the ones off the drivers to break free either but at least I am pretty sure they turn the right way.
Pretty sure this is the first time they have been taken off since the car was new, 2004. Anybody else ever have a problem with this? I tried an impact wrench and it just sat there vibrating!
Thanks for the help.

They should turn in a counter clockwise direction to loosen. I find it hard to believe that the tires have not been rotated in almost 4 years. You may want to spray some penetrating oil on them and let is set and see if that loosens them up any. These are actually lug bolts that screw into the hub assembly.

They sure are tough to get off when they've been on for a long time. When I first got mineI must have spent about 45 minutes getting all four wheels off. What ended up working for me was (first spraying them) using a floor jack undera breaker bar. Set the breaker bar in place then use the jack to exert upward force on the bar. Use one hand to steady the socket and the other to pump the jack. But most shops have enough psi to free up any stubborn lug.

Thanks for the replys guys. Now that I know what direction they turn I can put some torgue on them. From what i can tell about the car, the former owner only changed the oil, nothing else. The brakes are close to needing to be changed. Maybe I'll tip one side of the car way up and spray some oil into the bolts and see if that helps.
Thanks again, you guys are always great to talk to.
