Oil Filter Change on '01 2.4t

I recently purchased a '01 S60 2.4t. I've heard that I will need a special oil filter wrench in order to get the filter cap off. Is this true? Or can I simply use a regular strap wrench? Thanks!

yes there is a special tool for the cartiage. i bought mine on ebay but u can get it at fcpgroton,or boston volvo places like that

I just received one from zdmak.com for $15. Attaches directly onto a 3/8" ratchet and fits the cartridge perfectly.
