Over asked, I know but.. Service Light Question
Thanks for anyone who replies. I know that this subject is asked a million times but none of the "systems" seem to work. So, for one more go around please:
Car is a2001 S60 T5 in the US - it has the two trip computer as well as theindash message center (if this matters) - the light is the Service Engine Light, it comes on when you start and goes off after a few minutes of driving. I just had the Emmissions tested (for the state) and everything is fine there, it is alower mileage model (60ish).
Any ideas how to reset this model?? Much thanks to everyone.

Whatever notify bump means?
That's a little casual.
The service light just generally means you need an oil change. It doesn't mean you have to have one, it just means it's been 7500 miles since the last time the light was reset.
Search on here on how to get it reset.
I don't think you searched very hard. There are several methods and every three months I have to search on here to relearn how to do it. You can too.

First: notify bump is just a mean of posting a secondtime because i forgot to check the email notify box before posting. Bump is just a way to politelyget your message in the top tier after it has sat dormant on a forum. Since I just posted it I felt the need to show why I bumped my subject, sorry I didn't know this was a formal forum. I will try harder to live up to the standards set forth to me.
Second: My first sentence states it pretty clear - I have attempted three different methods for s60s listed on this forum, all from different years than mine - to no avail.
But thank you for taking the time to offer such great advice, I am glad to see the spirit of helpfulness is alive and well. Also many thanks for the "I don't think you searched very hard." comment - it reminds me that I should call my father, it has been awhile since we spoke...

Hello irsparky,
Greetings from Narita, Japan.
I seldom go out of the 850 forum, as my knowledge is limited to 850s and am not privy to other Volvos. However, here are some findings:
http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/cha...pic.php?t=4123
http://www.volvo-forums.com/t3039-se...ator-reset.htm
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/mm...ool~parts.html
More findings if you like; found at Google.co.jp (you probably get the same results from google.com)
http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=ja...e+light&lr=
Also, someday when you have that annoying "Check Engine Light", a scanner like these may save you some $, as one visit to a dealer could cost you over a $100 just get the codes read.

Good luck,

And don't get your skirt all in a knot.
Hint... Use the "edit" button if you have to add something to an original thread... Or the "notify bump email edit".
