P0011 - Intake Camshaft position timing - Over advanced (Bank 1)
Hello all, I just had my timing belt, pulleys and water pump replaced about a week ago. Two days later, I received a check engine light. I took it to Auto Zone to have it read. They told me nothing was coming up so I might just want to clear the code. I did and three days later it came back on. This time I took it to O'Reilly and they gave me the following code: P0011 intake camshaft position timing - Over advanced (bank 1). Now, this whole time my car has been running fine, at least to me it feels like it is. Is this something that I should get fixed right away? Will it ruin my car if I wait? Any input would be appreciated.

A quick search on Google came up with:
A P0011 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
Incorrect camshaft timing
Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system
Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber
Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)
I'm guessing whoever replaced your belt was a tooth off on one of the cam shafts. I'd just take it back (with the check engine light on) and have them verify the timing. Hopefully the installation was covered by some form of warranty and they do this at no cost to you.
Otherwise, it may just be a coincidence and the control solenoid is bad.
If the timing is slightly off, it won't destroy your engine, but its performance may be affected.
