I need some solid advice from a true Volvo gear-head! I have a 2002 S60 2.4T. Several years ago, I installed a Turbo booster and a cool-air intake. It's all working very well to this point. Just this afternoon, while replacing a headlight bulb at Advance Auto parts, the guy working there offered some advice. "Brian" says I could really step-up the performance in my car if I purchaced a performance chip. He says I need to send-away a computer board and have the performance shop re-program the board with the new chip. Brian says I could add about 50HP to my car. He also says there are some special valves I can add. In any case, this sounds like a great idea. However, I am leary about who to purchace the parts from, what parts to get, who to trust to install it, while not getting raped on the price -or getting the wrong work done. Again, I'm not very handy in the mechanic department, so I need some direction. The other question is whether my car will pass PA inspection each year. Any suggestions out there?....Sean

 

For Volvo you are talking about RICA or iPD tuning most likely, but there is a list on the FAQ page. Also explain the "Turbo booster" please. And for valve's was he talking about a Blow off Valve (BOV), if so, ignore him since you already have a recirculation valve. And last time i checked RICA was about 600-1000 i believe, might be wrong though.

 

I would also recommend Elevate. I had there tune on my S60R and it was fantastic.
