Default The pitfalls of buying a used car, I think I have a cracked head or bad head gasket

I have a '04 S60 2.5T that is eating coolant fairly quickly. I have had the car for like 5 months and just recently starting seeing my coolant levels dropping. I think the guy I bought it from must have ran some sealant through it to patch it since I have done nothing but baby the car since I have had it.

I performed a leak down test today and #2 (2nd from left passenger side) is leaking. There is no coolant in the oil. At this point I am not sure if it's the head or gasket. I guess when I rip it apart is when I will know for sure.

Any advice, or input would be helpful.

Thanks.

I am an electronics engineer, not a mechanic, but if the car runs normally but is leaking coolant, I would look at the water pump, you didn't say how many miles on the clock but by 100k the water pump is definitely due a change.

I think by pure coincidence I actually have two different sources of coolant loss, I definitely have a leak in cylinder number 2 that I found doing a leak down test but I'm also seeing some dripping underneath the car which leads me to believe that possibly something in the radiator because the water pump seems fine. When I'm changing the head gasket I intend to change the timing belt and I bought a water pump as well.
