Problem With iPhone 6S/USB Audio On 2013 S60
Hello,
I'm experiencing a very odd issue with USB audio from my iPhone 6S to my 2013 S60. Basically bluetooth works flawlessly but when I connect via USB and use the iPod function, audio quality is significantly degraded. It skips at times and can be staticy.
When I brought the car into the dealer (as this is under warranty), I was intrigued to learn that I was not able to reproduce this issue on another car. Using the same iPhone and USB cable, I tested this on a 2013 S60 and a 2012 S60 and on both vehicles USB audio was flawless. This indicated the problem was specific to my S60.
The tech replaced my USB port but the issue persisted. Interestingly when the tech used (his) lower quality USB cable, the issue was improved, though I couldn't say if it was eliminated entirely.
It seems that the lower quality USB cord masked the issue. At this point the dealership is opening up a ticket with Volvo but some internet searches have proved that this isn't a common problem (so far that I know) that anyone else has experienced.
Can anyone shed any insight on this? I just want it to work and will gladly pay for it to do so but the dealer isn't even sure what to replace. :/
