Question purchased 17"x7.5" rims for my 2001 s60 but

  1. I recently purchased 17"x7.5" rims (volvo calls this style "Thor") on a killer bargain for my 2001 s60 but, supposedly this particular rim doesnt work for a 2001 s60, only 2002 & up, even though there are other rim style that are 17x7.5 which does work on my model year s60. Why is this? Is there an affordable kit/modification I can install to make these rims work? I have tried these rims, on the front(which have really cool low profile pirelli tires mounted) on my car for a short test drive around the block & seemed fine...

I don't see why they wouldn't work. If you have the wheels, do a quick test fit and see what happens.

If it is a 5 x 108 wheel it should work. I purchased a used set of Canisto's (came on the C70 and put them on my 02 S60 with no problems. +1 on the test fit. I think they'll work.

Exactly, Not to mention you can put put Volan's (850R Wheels) on a P2 S60, and I put Pegs on my 850R. The Thor's are 5x108 so you should be good to go.

Is your S60 an AWD model? If so they are not for AWD models. At least that is what I saw a few years back.

Just test fit them!!! Really, they should work.

And I'm Just curious, but how can a wheel be a specific FWD wheel??? At some point through tire rotations all the wheels will be hooked up to the drive axles and will have that added stress on them. I don't see what difference it would make.

I have Thor rim on my 2002 awd s60 came from factory with them. If the bolt pattern works and they don't hit the brake caliper you should be fine
