We have a 2002 Volvo S60t & yesterday the wife was traveling out of town and about 20 mins. from our house the 'check engine' light started flashing and the car was running REAL rough. I ran the codes on it & it had a P0302 & P0234. After some 'internet' searching, someone mentioned that it might be the plugs. I replaced all 5 plugs with the Volvo plugs from the dealership (the car has 99,000 miles on it) and the old plugs had some slight 'cone-ing' and the 2nd from the passenger side plug (Number 2?) was just slightly different than the others. I put everything back in reverse order and it still is running a little rough and it's still pulling the same codes.

I'm going to search for vacuum leaks today, any tips on that besides listening and trying to source them? Also, does the computer 'brain' need to be reset by unplugging the battery after a plug change?

Oh yea, I'm getting ready to replace the air filter.

 

I'm guessing it was the coil on top of the spark plug. I switched out coil #2 with coil #1 and it is showing a code P0301. I have a single coil on order from O'Reillys for $52.00 & I will get it installed on Monday. I will post back if that fixed it.
