Default Question about 2002 S60 transmission

I have a 2002 S60 non-turbo with an automatic transmission. I read the whole transmission thread but didn't know if I should post my own. I was wondering if FredMC, Tech or any other knowledgable persons could tell me if this can be used in my AW tranny.

The reason I ask is because it says compatible with T-IV but it also says Mercon and Dextron so that worries me.

get toyota type IV fluid and you'll be fine, $5 a quart.

why mess with fluids that are not j3309 compliant

Do they usually sell the Toyota type IV at local parts stores like Auto Zone or O'Reilly? Or is that a dealer item, and if it is a dealer item, is it still usually around 5 bucks?

You can buy T-Type IV at Amazon for approximately $5.30/qt, free shipping. I just had a case delivered, in a Toyota box.

Thanks. Didn't want to risk running on the same old burnt transmission fluid for any longer so I bit the bullet and bought the Volvo fluid to do my first drain and fill. $90 for four liters! Definitely ordering from Amazon or from the AVlube site for my future drain and fills.
