Rear Parking Sensors
I have a '07 S60 2.5T (Premium & Sport Package) and I purchased the rear parking sensors and had them installed at the dealership. The sound eminatting from these sensors is obnoxiously high pitched and sound completely different from the factory installed sensors that come with the convenience package. Did anyone else experience this problem? I feel like I was misled and ripped off cause I test drove an S60 with the factory installed sensors (convenience package) and I expected the sound to be similar, call me crazy. There's a switch to turn off the sensor, but it's located in the back seat by the headrest, and this defeats the whole point of using the sensors if I have to get out of the car to turn them on. $500 down the drain.
I had the dealer install sensors in my old c70. The cost was considerably less than $500.00. The noise is a bit annoying however I have become use to it and it is easily heard over the radio.............

You have factory installed units. In 2002 that option was not offered on the c70. The dealer installed the device which was obtained by 'them' I suspect that since it was not an option in 02 that the sensors were supplied by someone other than the factory.
