rebuilt/remanufactured engine?
Is there a good company that does a rebuilt/reman engine for a 2.5t volvo s60. I cant find a company nor a shop that will do my engine. are they really that hard to rebuild.
Ive tried jasper, hiperperformer, searched the the internet but a cant find prices or rebuilders. any advice?
-I dont need a new engine right now, but my local mechanics say My vvt is scewed up(Internal issues, cam springs/hubs?), because the previous owner did not use the right oil and did not change it enough.( car goes into reduced performance mode and cutsoff often) Idles rough. also need a new timing belt, since the cam seals are leaking onto it, which is caused probaly by a bad pcv system.
-If my engine is beyound repair then should i just ignore the pcv and timing belt and use that money towards a rebuilt engine?

Considering what a rebuilt engine is likely to cost I would search out a low mileage used motor, and yes, it does not make any sense to throw any money on repair or maintenance (beyond oil changes) at an engine that is destined for irreversible failure. If you search ebay you can usually find a bunch of choices. Right now I see one with 48K on it for $1299 + freight from a reputable seller.
What is wrong with the engine? If it's just the CVVT, you can replace the hub, solenoid, cam seals and timing belt for much less than an engine. If the engine is sludged up, you can even pull the head and oil pan to clean out the sludge for probably less than parts and labor to put a used motor in.
If the sludge caused damage to bearings, then you might want to replace the motor though.
