Default S60 2T, Gear selector reduced funtion.

This morning the message `gear selector reduce function' appeared. The trany behaves normally (changing gears normally ) but no indicator light at P-R-N-D-3-2-L and the `W' (winter) switch does not work. Anybody had experienced this?

Follow up the above problem, perform scan test, it mentioned:- gear selector module - signal missing. What does it mean ? could it be the PNP inhibitor switch on top of the gear box?

update on the above problem.

It is confirmed that the gear selector module is faulty. Swap other unit from other s60 found that the gear lights position at the gear and the winter mode are working. The gear selector module is the panel at the foot of the gear level that housed the gear position indicators and the winter switch mode.In the case of S60 T5 if this unit is faulty the manual (+/-_ function will be immobilised. Federal auto price for this unit is RM 500 +. The sad thing is that this parts has to be ordered from Sweden and it takes minimum of 3 weeks delivery. I am looking at the `chop shop' for this parts as an alternative. Anyway not to worry as it does not affect the mobility of the vehicle except that the gear lights and the winter mode switch is not working.I guess the repair can be delayed.

tq.
